Hi sd1972.

It sounds like you had an allowance in your trust deed to pay the full mortgage payment. This reduced your monthly payment to your trust deed for your creditors.

The insurance payout was to help with the mortgage, meaning that in theory you didn't have to pay the full mortgage payment yourself. This increased the amount that was affordable for you to pay into the trust deed, but the money wasn't paid over.

It sounds like your trustee wishes to recover this shortfall.

In that case, were there not some elements of your household expenditure that were "allocated" as being paid by your husband? Are you not having to bear the cost of these items now?

I would need to check if anything was allocated to my husband initally, will check my paperwork. At the moment i fully support the family and pay all household bills.
