Hi, I made my first payment on the day I signed my TD back in Feb 2012, but when the paperwork came through it stated 'please ensure you have sufficient funds of.....to meet the first payment due on first April...' Does the very first payment made in Feb count towards the 36 payments?

Was just checking everything in the final year of my countdown. Hope I'm not disappointed if it turns out I actually have 13 payments left and not the 12 I was expecting.

Thanks in advance.

Hi worriedme.

So long as that payment was into your trust deed, rather than some sort of payment to an intermediary, it should count towards your 36.

I'm sure it will be fine and it should be something that's very easy to verify with your trustee.

Thanks for your prompt response. It was made to TD, so feel better now. #128522;

Hi worriedme

I think the wording just means to ensure that there are sufficient funds for the forsy payment by standing order as opposed to the 1st payment generally.

Nothing to worry about.
