Hi there,
My husband has a part time job which pays cash in hand, the hours vary, but on average he only makes about £30-£40 per week from it. Some weeks he makes nothing. On this basis, when the income/expenditure was being completed, he was advised not to include his pt earnings as there was no proof with it not going into his bank account (he pays tax and NI, gets wage slip etc but gets paid cash).
Unfortunately there is a chance he may lose this job in the near future.. If he was to secure another pt position, would it be possible to have the wages paid into his dad's bank account so the trustee doesn't find out?
I don't think he can, I'm sure there is a way it could be traced and don't want him getting into bother further down the line.
Could you please advise if the trustee is likely to find out?
Thanks!
Hi Trixie
Being paid cash in hand and being paid in the way your husband is, are 2 different things.
Cash in hand is when you get paid cash and are not on the books in any way, therefore there is no record of it.
If your husband is paying tax and NI on this job, he is most certainly on the books, being a second job he is probably being taxed on a BR tax code and at the end of the tax year will receive a P60 from the employer which for tax credit purposes (if you receive it) should be added to the P60 from his main job to give the correct figures for total income for the year.
As far as hiding genuine employment and the trustees' ability to find out, I wouldn't know.

Hi trixie
With every respect, the forum is not the place to question how best to falsify information to your trustee.

Hi mark,
I don't want him to! I guess I'm looking for someone to confirm that I'm right so I can talk him out of it and can show him someone else's (possibly an expert's) opinion.
I'm petrified that he would get caught out further down the line and end up in an even worse off position.
Sorry, don't think my first post was very clear.
Thanks
