Hi everyone,
So I haven't really been following the payments to the trust deed in terms of how much was supposed to be paid. I have an AOE for the trust deed and been using that to determine when it finishes.
I called four weeks ago to ask how long things would take when finished now that it was determined that there was no PPI claims and was told that actually I had finished my trust deed 4 months ago! They had wrong informed my employer of the amount and that there was £697 too much in the pot and despite 6 phone calls, they hadn't told me employer to stop the deduction and it would be coming out again this month at another £195.
I asked when I would get this back and they basically just said it will be a couple of weeks! They didn't ask for my bank details and they didn't seem to really care. Should I just wait a couple of weeks and chase again? I could really really do with this money!
Hello MissK1988,
If you've been deprived of access to these funds through a mistake made by your trustee's office, my personal view is that you've every right to have the matter resolved pretty quickly.
Hi MissK1988,
Well done on reaching this point and successfully completing your Trust Deed.
If I'm right then £892 is what you are due back and this is a large sum of money. I'm sure most people could really use this and I can understand why you are frustrated.
The best way to ensure that this is dealt with as quickly as possible is to become a polite nuisance to your Trustee and request that the AOE is stopped immediately and the funds transferred to you as soon as possible. I would give them a call regularly to chase this up. You could also request that they email you a letter confirming that you have fully paid your Trust Deed and that the AOE can stop. You could then pass this to your employer to ensure that it stops.
Please let us know how you get on.

Thank you. Called again on Friday and told that it would be processed straight awy so hoping to receive it in the next week or so.
Can't believe it - from going to not finishing until September to being told that I have overpaid is slightly worrying me...I can't understand how that can have happened but hoping they aren't wrong.
They have told me that my trust deed is now pending discharge but that discharge can take from 6 - 12 months!! Is this normal?
Usually your discharge can happen fairly quickly MissK1988. The trustee discharging themselves often takes a lot longer, but this need not be of great concern to you.
Firms treat discharging their clients with different levels of priority. Six to twelve months sounds like a very long time.
Just wanted to update...I got my money and the trust deed is finally over! Been a long 42 months and I am so happy that it has come to an end 🙂
That's fantastic news MissK1988.
I'm sure the money will come in useful. Perhaps a little celebration now you have successfully completed your Trust Deed.

Typical - call from Knightsbridge to say there has been an error and I still have 4 payments to go!! Never ending 🙁
Hi MissK1988,
Sorry to hear that. That must have come as a bit of a shock and left you disappointed.
Do you think you have paid all of your agreed payments?
If it were me I would ask for a full breakdown of all payments that I have made to them. Ask them to send you this out in writing.
