I finished my PTD in January. Today I received a letter from a debt agency saying I owed money from before 2006 (that's when I moved into my house). I thought I had put all my debts into my trust deed. Can anyone tell me what will happen now. Thanks

Welcome Pattie1960.

The reason trust deeds are "advertised" is to alert creditors who weren't otherwise notified.

That debt therefore was included along with the others, even if they didn't come forward and make a claim.

Thank you for replying. Does that mean they can't come after me for this debt.

Correct, provided that the debt existed when you signed your trust deed.

That is great news. I would just like to say thank you for this website. It has been a great help to me over the last 3 years. And Phillip Gill for helping me with my PTD. It was a long 3 years but I'm now discharged. And it feels great #128516;

Hi Pattie1960

Really pleased it all worked out. As TDA says, even debts you were unaware of have no right of recovery due to the trust deed.

If you send me the letter, I'll give them a call & sort it out.
