Hi

I am in the last week of my 5 week period to protected TD. Am getting a tad anxious now as the time gets closer I keep thinking something is going to go wrong. Can anyone tell me why creditors leave it to the very last minute to let the Trustee know of their decision? Only one of my creditors has filled in the claim form and responded and I have at least 10 others - and my Trustee hasn't heard a peep. No response from any of my husband's creditors either - I can't believe they all will leave it to the last minute. Any thoughts?

Hello susie,

I'm not aware of any reason why creditors would wish to leave a response so late other than that perhaps there is a certain amount of apathy amongst some of them to the process in general.

It's certainly good news that there have been no objections.

It must be a nervous time for you but the major Trust Deed companies are well aware of creditor acceptance criteria and I think it's very very likely that everything will go through as expected.

Hi Susie

I wouldn't get too worried. They have 5 weeks from the date of the Edinburgh Gazette ad. By the time ad comes in and the citcular is send, they normally have 3-4 weeks. I know they are generally busy and don't think the are purposely holding back.

I'm sure it will be fine.
