In that case you have nothing to worry about on that score.

I think you should try not to worry too much. Chances are your other half will not have any problems at all in getting credit regardless o your Trust Deed.

Kevin, thank you so much. It's no exaggeration when I say I have felt totally suicidal at times with all the worry.

Please keep well SunnyM. Your health and wellbeing is by far the most important thing here.

The chances really are that everything will progress in a way that you're happy with.

Thank you TDA. I will keep you updated. I wish I had actually found this forum before I signed up to a PTD. I am not long back from seeing my GP. Had full intentions of telling him what was going on and saying I needed help however I just couldn't do it as I felt so ashamed.

You really shouldn't feel ashamed SunnyM. You might have found yourself in a difficult financial position, but you've chosen to take steps to address that and make things better again in the future. That takes a lot of strength and courage.

If you have been feeling suicidal I'd really urge you to use that same strength and courage again to make another appointment with your GP. There are things they can do to help. They want to help. They may well also be able to point you towards other sources of valuable support.

Once you have signed a PTD and it is on the Register, is it too late to change who administers it? I was never even advised on sequestration and no idea what it actually means.

Hi SunnyM.

I'm afraid there's no ready way to switch trustee at this stage. Your best bet is almost certainly to keep working with them to help make a success of the arrangement.

Sequestration is another term for bankruptcy. This option would not have resolved any of the concerns that you've expressed here about your trust deed. You'd likewise have had to pay over what you can reasonably afford towards your debts for a period of four years.
