My battle with KPMG to agree income & expenditure continues. They say I can not include haircuts as an expense because I did not include it on original expenditure form.[:(!] They also say I cannot include pet care or emergency funds for the same reason. I never completed an expenditure form for KPMG when signing Trust Deed (July 2011) - they simply used the expenditure form passed to them from CCCS (I was in debt management plan with them prior to Trust Deed) which did include pet care and emergency fund!

Hi fcwalker

I think balance and flexibility are key to any Trust Deed.

The logic of it can't be included and it wasn't previously included does not make a lot of sense. There always needs to be room to manoeuvre. The BBA guide does allow for haircuts and pet costs.

Its a bad day when you need to spend 3 years hoping your kettle, cooker or anything else doesn't blow up as the replacement costs would not be in your original I & E.

Exactly Mark. I have made savings by changing electricity/gas/phone supplier and cut my food spending by ยฃ35 a month and they are happy to claw that back from me

Hello fcwalker.

Obviously your trustee must act as they see fit.

However, a failure to allow any expenditure for haircuts, pets or emergencies seems like total and utter madness. Debt arrangements like protected trust deeds are meant to be sustainable.

There is a very good reason why all of the major expenditure guidelines include provision for these types of expenditure.

I was concerned during my T-D that my car was going to need expensive repair which was essential for me travelling to work. I spoke to T D provider and the assured me that i could postpone or delay a payment if I required anything done i would have to provide proof of purchase or bill and they would allow this as my payments had been up to date and on time.
Luckily repair was not expensive and within budget. Plead your case with T_D provider
