I have been offered a job recently with a company who require to carry out a security check, which includes a finance check. The form asked if I had previously had a Trust Deed etc..., which I replied to as Yes.

I had a Trust Deed approx 5 years ago, which I did not complete as unhappy with the way it was being handled and decided to deal with the creditors myself. The Trust Deed no longer shows on my Credit Report or the Aib website. The company carrying out the security check are asking me for a discharge letter but I never received one as I did not complete the Trust Deed.

The fact that it no longer shows on my report or the Aib website for over 2 years does that mean I have been discharged from the conditions of the Trust Deed?

Hello ronald1864.

I think you would still have had to have been discharged from the trust deed, even if you were not discharged from your debts.

My suggestion would be to contact the trust deed provider to establish the exact status and to request copies of documents if they're needed.

If that provider no longer exists it might be worth contacting the Accountant in Bankruptcy to see if they're able to assist you.
