Is it possible for my partner and I to seek another mortgage lender although he is still in a trust deed. The current lender is NRAM. The only issue is the mortgage is in his name.

Hi bubblymate

There will be a couple of issues. Any remortgage would require the consent of the Trustee and the payment of any equity assessed. However the bigger problem may be obtaining a new mortgage from any lender in light of your partner's trust deed as this will be on their credit file.

bubblymatie, your partner is ikely to face difficulty in obtaining a mortgage now and for some time after the trust deed. What is your position re mortgage eligibility, have you spoken with a broker?
