Hi
I'm in process of signing for a protected trust deed.
I am very anxious at this stage as a though occurred to me. I am named on the company I work for credit card and also have access and log in details to the companies bank accounts. How will a trust deed affect me and will the company's bank inform my employer of my trust deed? This is not an option to me as I would be so embarrassed by this. If u need to cancel the credit card and put into someone else's name would this help? Would appreciators help thanks.
Ps I am not a director or partner just an employee
Welcome to the forum Garfield1030.
Company credit cards are issued with the credit standing of the company in mind, not the individual cardholders. With that in mind it's hard to see what the issue would or could be.
We've never heard of a bank notifying an employer in these circumstances. A bank may be interested in the status of directors, but I cannot see why they'd be concerned about an employee with access details. If anything at all, that seems likely to be a matter between you and your employer only.
Many thanks for the quick reply. I just want to know if my trust deed would be my business as I do not want my employer to know my personal business as it will not affect my work performance. Yes the company credit card is under the company name with myself and two directors each having a split credit card allowance between us. Then the company gets billed the one full amount with a breakdown of the three expenditures. I was wondering if the bank would ever find my trust deed out and if this would affect the business? Would I have to seek employment elsewhere or take my name off bank business? Thanks
Thanks for putting my mind at rest π
Hi Garfield
I have completed a Trust Deed and I have a company credit card with my name and company address. Nothing was raised automatically.
However, I am also a Trustee of life assurance account. Again, that was not flagged up automatically.
When we applied to have a new Trustee bank account opened and they did a search at that point, my name came up. The Manager for my account called me to discuss that my name had come up with a Trust Deed. I was indeed mortified. However, I explained my circumstances. I was asked to submit a full signed statement to go to the under-writer. At that point. I was forced to tell our Finance Manager and explained the circumstances. He was happy to speak on my behalf. And so, the account went ahead.
I had not considered the link at all because in my mind, my company business and money is completely separate to my own personal circumstances.
So, from your credit card perspective, it should not be highighted automatically if your card is at your company address.
Not sure if that helps, but it might reassure you a bit.

Thanks F, I am not linked to any other financial things such as trustee or insurances. I can just imagine ur dilemma ! To be on the safe side I'm going to withdraw the credit card as confidentiality at my workplace is by so grt with a gossiping boss sadly π . I just hope that this does not affect any potential new finance jobs but will need to just deal with it if it does arise. Many thanks again for getting back to me it helps a lot π G x
