Does my partner need to notify the trust deed that he is moving abroad, he never changed his previous address as its his old address on the register

Yes, he needs to let his Trustee know, otherwise they wouldn't be able to contact him for his annual review. Also, I presume the move will mean a change to his income/outgoings, so the trustee will need to know what the effect will be.
The address on the register doesn't change though, that will remain as the address as at the date of the Trust Deed being signed.
