Hi guys,

I'm just a newbie to this site. My husband and I came out of our joint trust deed in 2008, and now I want to sell my house and move. We have quite a lot of equity in our property and would be able to put a substantial deposit down on a new property. I have tried our bank for a mortgage and been turned down. Could you recommend a bank that would at least look at our case. We have kept all outstanding debts, ie mortgage and car loans uptodate and have no bad credit since going into trust or after.

Many Thanks

Hi jojo

I am surprised that the bank turned you down if you have a sizeable deposit. I'm unsure of any specific bank which would guarantee a mortgage as such and it may be an idea to shop around to find one who will say yes.

Most of the High Street lenders will avoid mortgages where there has recently been a Trust Deed JOJO.

There are several smaller lenders, some of which you may not have heard of, that mortgage brokers can approach for you.

Having a substantial deposit is a very good start.
