Hi

I was discharged from my trust deed in June 2020.

I am hoping to get a mortgage next year when it falls off my credit report.

My wife has a mortgage in her name with halifax but hoping to move with both our salaries.

Has anyone had success with halifax after discharge?

On there lending criteria website it says:

The Credit History question should be answered as โ€˜Yes' if any customer has had a Bankruptcy / IVA / Debt Management Arrangement or Debt Relief Order which was:

Registered within the last 6yrs (whether now completed or not)

Or

Is still outstanding (whenever this was registered)

If a Bankruptcy / IVA / Debt Management Arrangement or Debt Relief Order was registered over 6yrs ago and is no long outstanding, the question can be answered as โ€˜No'

Does this mean I don't need to tell them I was in a trust deed?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi SD1991

They don't specifically mention Trust Deeds, however I would say that if it was registered within the last 6 years then you should probably answer yes to this anyway. However, if it is more than 6 years since the Trust deed was signed, which I guess it will be after June, then it seems you should be fine to answer no.
