That's a fair point tinsoldier.

Not every broker will charge a fee, and some will do so only on successful completion of a mortgage.

They're also paid by lenders when they get their job done.

It's worth bearing all of this in mind if you use a broker.

Yep, our fee is payable only on completion. And to be fair to the broker, they had to jump through hoops to get us the mortgage!

Just wanted to share our good news. After a long agonising wait we have been approved for a mortgage with Nationwide!!! We where really doubting that we would get one but it goes to show that there is life after a Trust Deed (well 3 years after anyway!)

Off to look at houses now...

Thank you, yes it is great news and I hope it does give others hope. This forum is fantastic and I only wish I had discovered it sooner in the early days of our trust deed when we felt very alone.
I am very glad it is all behind us now, it felt like we would never get to this point!
