Hi my trust deed is due to end in June next year. My partner and I are finding it very difficult to get a house from our local council/housing association and our only option is to buy. Will I ever get a mortgage?

If you have a sufficient deposit and enough monthly income then that will go a very long way I'd have thought, the trust deed on your credit history is only a small part of the equation as I understand it.
Also remember that you will have no debt left after your trust deed, which is another plus point.

Thanks a lot. If I applied for a mortgage before my trust deed finishes would I get one or would I have to wait until it's ended?

Hi Lorryjo1983,

Different mortgage lenders apply different acceptance criteria which change over time. It's therefore impossible to give you a definitive answer.

Unless you have access to a substantial deposit I think it is unlikely that you will be succesful currently.
