I attended the group in Edinburgh last night that was mentioned on the forum a couple of weeks ago. I had to travel for an hour and a half to get there (and reorganise my chid care), and I was surprised that no one from the forum came along. There were 3 attendees and the facilitators from money advice. it was very informative and a great source of support and ideas. It was well worth the hassle . [:)

Hi Eoinbaby.

Thank you for sharing that, I'm glad that it turned out to be worthwhile after you had made such an effort to attend.

For anyone curious to know more about the group it was discussed on this recent thread here:

It is going to run for a year. I was reimbursed for travel. Confidentiality was assured and I would recommend to anyone to try. It offered a place where you could openly discuss debt issues. I think that there is still much stigma attached to debt and many of us will not discuss openly with friends. Personally I think that it helps to be able to have frank discussions and as the forum has highlighted,to know that you are not alone.

Hi Lesley,

Good to hear that it wasn't a wasted journey and it was worth the hassle! I'm sure the organisers will be pleased to hear this.

I think it will take time to develop as you say there is still quite a stigma associated with debt but hopefully it picks up.

Chris is not currently posting in the Trust-Deed.co.uk forum.
