Hi folks I have been in my trust deed for just over a year now and everything is going fine. My payments started at ?ú350 but increased last year to ?ú460 because my wages went up a bit so I suppose that's fair, I have never missed a payment but I have a slight problem this month, I had a small accident in my car because of the snow and I damaged a bit of it which is costing me ?ú200 plus I need to renew all 4 tyres on my car. What do u think my trustee would say if I was to ask to miss this payment and add it on at the end? Any advice would be most appreciated. I don't want to phone him before I spoke to 1 of you's because things are running smoothly and I don't want to upset things thanks again
Hi dazza.
There is no hard and fast answer to this question, it's down to the attitude of your trust deed company. As you have consistently been making the payments I'd very much hope that they exercise some common sense.
I'd suggest that you call them and make your case. Please let us know how you get on.
When I signed my Trust Deed my trustee advised me that in emergencies or special circumstance I could miss out a payment but that would then be tagged onto the end of my payments.... But I would have to advise him first to get his approval, as long as you've been making payments and are being upfront with your trustee I'd hope they'd ok this.....
Good luck....
Hi dazza
Generally if you speak with the Trustee and provide receipts, I dont think there will be any problem at all.
These things happen and the current weather is certainly exceptional. Our building was shut for 2 days with the snow and I'm sure many more were in a similar position, so I suspect you'll get some sympathy.
Maria from my office has spent 2 days standing at the window. I suppose I better let her in 🙂

dazza - please post back and let us know the outcome.
It really helps people (like me) who are at an earlier stage to know how these things pan out in reality.
Cheers and good luck,
