Yet another letter from Mercers on behalf of Barclays finance. They are harder to get rid of than Herpies!,
I took out a finance agreement with Barclays retail finance back in November last year this was a delayed initial payment scheme which as events unfolded was forgotten about untill well after my sequestration in February
Anyway despite sending a copy of my certificate of sequestration and all the contact details of my I P and two letters of authorization for them to obtain whatever information they require, they still keep on calling and writing.
Last conversation they said that as the first payment wasn't due till May that the sequestration didn't cover it as it was after the date of sequestration! I pointed out that the contract was signed before February and that as far as I was concerned the date of the contract was the relevant date.
Today I got two letter saying that they were instructing debt collectors ( so who are Mercers if not debt collectors) to visit me and collect the money
Should be interesting!

Hi on track.

It might be worth making a formal complaint to Mercers. Hopefully that would result in someone sensible taking a look at this situation.

I doubt their management wants to be putting too many resources into chasing debts that cannot be recovered.

Have you sent your IP the letters you have been receiving? They should contact Mercers on your behalf (and any subsequent debt collecters)

Another 4 letters from Mercers today, I phoned them up on their "helpline" and was given the same rubbish about barclays finance passing the information about the payment start date being the start of the contract, I pointed out I have an invoice dated 15 december and how is it that Barclays didnt pass the information when they share the same office and Mercers are just the collection arm of the same company!
They got a bit defensive then and when I said " you are actually trying to force me to act illegally by preferentially paying a creditor they hung up!!
Hey Ho
we will see what happens now

I think you should speak to your trustee again, on track. They should be dealing with this for you.
