Just thought I woudl post up for members who are having difficulty getting any sorts of loans post TD. I got discharged in August last year, and at that time I applied and was accepted for a Vanquis card, which is use for some fuel each month. I also opened an account with a credit union and have been putting away what I used to pay to my TD into the credit union instead.
So I applied for a loan through my Credit union the other day and Ive been accepted for a loan. Ive agreed to use my savings with them as collateral and in return they have given me a loan at 3% APR, which is fantastic given my situation.
I just thought I would post up to say it is possible to get good finance if your sensible about it, and I cant recommend getting involved with a credit union enough if you have one in your area.
You make a great point mick1985.
We think credit unions can play a big part in financial rehabilitation after credit problems.
There's a bit more on this subject at:

I'm glad that it has worked out for you.
Hello Mick
That's great news and very encouraging.
I have just opened a Credit Union account to start saving there - separate to my Co-operative accounts. My daughter will be married in 2015 and so this will be an ideal place to save the money [:)]
I have not organised a credit card (eg Vanquis) but operate with a Next card - small amounts paying it off monthly to show good management.
Nothing earth shattering, but it is a good feeling and encouraging to know that there is light beyond the end of that tunnel.
