I last posted about a month ago, when coming to the end of my TD and having a nightmare over the equity in the house. after challenging the TD's valuation on my house. I paid £100 to get my own report and submitted that to the TD along with a suggestion to pay £3k (borrowed from a relative) - the sum my valuation report said was the 'true equity figure' and not £10K as the TD had said. After about two weeks i got a call to say that no creditors had objected to this final 3k payment so at last, after three years, its almost over- the discharge papers are being finalised and iVe been told this will take three months. Now im looking at how to re build my credit- Ive heard I can get a 'pay up front' credit card so im looking online to see if I can do that
So to everyone who is still going through it- there is light at the end of the tunnel- To anyone who is challenging the equity figure in their house- get your own report - dont accept the TD valuation if you know the house is worth less now - I saved 7k by doing this !
To the forum thanks for all the help and support alomg the way...here's to a debt free future. Mac[:)][:)]

Well done Mac.
I know you've been very thoughtful about how to go about this and it's great to hear that common sense has been applied by all parties to the trust deed.
Best wishes for your debt free future.
Hi Mac,
They did a drive ny valuation on my property and the price was way out. They then got a chartered surveyor in and it was valued at 10000 less than the drive by. This was Jan/Feb time, do you think its worth while challenging this again as am still looking for £15000 unfortunately. Advice appreciated. Glad you sorted, it must be a relief.
