Hi,
My TD ends next month and Apex have been in touch asking for my life insurance details. Can the experts advise why they are asking for these details? My life insurance policy wasn't discussed at the start of the TD. It has no surrender value. Bit confused.

Thanks [:)]

Hi herewego,

Well done on reaching this point. Hopefully the next couple of weeks pass quickly for you.

We need to ensure that your life insurance policy doesn't have a cash in / surrender value. Sometimes a policy can have a cash in value and the Trustee needs to consider cashing it in. The majority of the time a life insurance policy won't have a cash in value.

It's nothing to worry about and it sounds to me like Apex are starting tidy up any loose ends in your file.

If you're worried give them a quick call.

Hi herewego

Either that or you are about to get a call from someone selling you Life Insurance!

Thanks David and Mark.
Checked my policy and it states that it has no cash in value, so hopefully everything will go smoothly. Getting nervous that something will go wrong at the very last minute. The champagne (sparkly wine!) is chilling ready for receipt of form 5!

Don't worry about it. My life insurance policy also had no surrender value but they need it confirmed by the insurer directly, they won't accept your word or copies of any paperwork.

Only took a week for them to get word back.

Thanks mapleleaf,
Sounds like it is all part of the finalising procedure so I shall not worry about it. I have passed on my policy details to trustee. It's good to know they are working towards completion!

I think that's the way to look at it herewego.

It's the start of the end rather than a problem.
