I got a letter yesterday from an accountancy company saying that now I was discharged from my trust deed I could claim ppi and it would be mine to keep. Apart from the fact that it has already been claimed back and paid to my trust deed shows that this company has no reason to write to me, but how do they know that I have been discharged when I don't? I haven't had any letter from my IP saying I am discharged but this other lot seem to have information that I have been. Is there a public record that would say this? And should I be worried about them having my personal information
Good morning kerry.
There is a public register of trust deeds. You can find it by searching for the Register of Insolvencies (it's available via the Accountant in Bankruptcy's website).
This register includes some personal details like your address for example. It also includes discharge dates, both for you and your trustee.
You'll remain on this register for one year after your trustee is discharged.
It might be worth taking a look to confirm your own discharge date. Once that's listed on this register it's official (whether or not you've had a letter).
