Hi

I have only 5 more payments left of my trust deed and was wondering what happens in these last few months? Will I need to do a final annual review or is it just case of making my final payment and wait for my discharge form?

Thanks in advance!

H SD1991,

That’s fantastic. Well done on reaching this point in your Trust Deed.

Not too much happens in the last couple of months of the Trust Deed and it is just a case of making the final payment. You might receive another review form out to complete but as long as you have kept your Trustee up to date with any changes it’s nothing to worry about.

I’d getting touch with your Trustee to confirm how many payments you have remaining and how long from your final payment will it take for them to send out your Form 5 certificate of discharge. Ideally you want to have this within about 6-8 weeks from final payment.

You also want to have a look at your credit file to see how this looks and start to fix anything on this that isn’t correct. Have a look at this link for further information on this: https://www.trust-deed.co.uk/repair-your-credit-rating.html

How have you found the Trust Deed process? Is it something that has helped get you back on track financially?

Hi David

Sorry for the late reply! Thanks very much for the information. I’ll have a good look through the credit repair page.

Overall I’d say going into a trust deed has been a great choice for me. It’s not been all easy but it’s much better than the alternative! Plus it’s helped me to manage my money a lot better.

That's great, SD1991. I think your answer to David's question is very typical of the vast majority of people that go through the Trust Deed process. I'm sure the last few months will fly by and you can start planning what to do with the spare cash each month!

Hi SD1991,

I’m pleased to hear your experience has been positive and it was the right decision for you to enter into a Trust Deed.

You make an excellent point about being able to manage money a lot better. I guess that’s one of the additional benefits is that it can help to teach people to live within a budget. This I’m sure will benefit you for the future.

Like Kevin and TDA, I hope your final few months fly by!
