I have had it with them. Their sheer incompetence amazes me.

Today I received a letter saying that I can afford to pay £2257 a month based on my bank statements! I earn about £1000 a month!

on my income expenditure sheet they have listed expenses for petrol, MOT, road tax etc. - I sold my car in July and have notified them of this!!

I phoned them - but of course got answering machine. I left a ranting message but will write when I calm down[:(!][:(!]

I've worked out their mistake - I sent them 3 months of bank statements (with careful highlighting and notes) I explained at my meeting with them on 8th October that Think Banking statements are difficult to understand as there are 2 statements - as account is split into card account and salaries account. They have simply looked at the figure at bottom of each statement for total in (which includes money transferred from salary to card and vice versa) They have also included the figure of car sale as income despite a fair chunk of that money going into trust deed and me having explained where the rest of this money went. They also used an old expenditure sheet, despite me having provided them with an updated expenditure sheet after selling my car.

Should be easily sorted out - though it would be nice if they had taken a bit more care in the first place!

I had something similar happen a few years back when I was self employed.
My accountant questioned why I was only declaring X amount as earnings, when I has put substantially more through the bank.
I had no idea what he was talking about until he told me,
"Well you have put X through your business account and Y through your personal account.."
I had to explain to him that all the money that went into the personal account, had firstly came out of the business one!
