It doresn't make sense to me. What difference would it make? What are the legal implications of you not discharged and spending it and discharged and spending it. The key point is the Trustee is in office.
If the Trustee has notified the creditors of the ppi, then there is a legal onus on the creditors to pay it to the trustee, if they dont the Trustee sues the firm. Simple.

Yep Mark totally agree its the fobbing off and lack of up front information that causes us all to be angry. Why not when the law changed regarding PPI did the trustees not send us letters and investigate PPI before the trust deed officially finished(16th Jan 2012, for me). I also do not see why when it was agreed my trust deed finished, I was not informed that there was things holding up my discharge, not til 4 months down the line and numerous phone calls and 2 letters was I informed of this.
I know you do not like companys being named on the site, but for freedom of information and for the benefit of other members I feel that naming and shaming the ones who do not give the right or proper information to their clients is important. Also If the ones who do a good job should also be named in respect for them and their professionalism.
So needless to say I have sent them their questionnaire on PPI and Im still waiting for a reply, how long this will take, god knows???
But I will again for the 3rd time write and ask again for a discharge date, asking that they stay on as trustee for any PPI.
heres hoping it all over soon...... trying not to win the lottery in the meantime...[:D]

Hi
I have just made my last payment and last week got a letter saying they were looking at claiming possible PPI. After reading this thread I was very worried I would not be discharged as expected in 6-8 weeks. I contacted my IP who said I would be discharged as normal and that they would continue to pursue PPI. I feel that this is the way they should all be doing it.
your lucky, you are with a good firm that does what it said it would do.
good luck and well done on finishing your trust deed.

Hi Guys
really have had enough, need some help here....
Now recieved a letter saying they will discharge me when PPI is sorted, asking now for my documents on the loan , on cards etc so they can see if I was mis-sold the ppi, dont have any documents...Does this mean this is gonna drag on til they get the docs from the companys involved?
Also have sent me another form PPI Consumer Questionaire!!!
Asking all sorts including who I worked for when I took out the loan , cards etc, if i got bonus money or a wage rise etc...
This seems strange what has my employment status got to do with PPI claim?
I asked for protection in some of my things and none in others so I am fully aware of PPI and that it was not mis-sold,,..
But I am not filling in forms regarding my employment and how much wages etc I got when i took out PPI , surely this is nothing to to with my TD or PPI claim ???
Help what next guys
really am at the end of my tether with these lot..... HELP

Hi angiepal.
Your employment status at the time may influence things like:
1 - Whether you needed the cover.
2 - Whether the cover would have indeed paid out if you claimed.
3 - Whether you already had cover via your employer.
As such it seems like a reasonable thing to look into when investigating where there are, or are not, grounds for making a PPI claim.
Hi Tda
Thanks for that , just could not figure out why that would be so.....just had enough of forms , phone calls etc.... be easier to change my name ,...lol

but do appreciate all the advice that I get from the forum.
Will update when I next hear from my TD...
thanks again

Just found this forum. I too have been having problems with KPMG. I signed a trust deed with them a year ago. They were recommended to me by CCCS but I wish I had shopped around. I also think I was wrongly advised as I was actually not working when I signed my trust deed. I cannot afford to make anything but very small payments into trust deed and they keep sending me demanding letters, just like the ones I used to get from banks/credit cards
They never set a payment as I was not working. When I started working in May I set up a standing order of £20 a month. I have been unable to find a full time job, so have 2 part time jobs - total 22 hours a week. They sent me an income/expenditure for to fill in. I completed this and it showed after rent/bills/food etc I had £22 a month left, but now they are asking me for £50
My trust deed is supposed to be over 3 years. I think LILA would be a better option for me, but I dont think I can apply for that whilst I am in a trust deed
Did you work through your income and expenditure with CCCS or KPMG before signing the trust deed fcwalker?
That would normally have to be done otherwise it would be impossible to make an offer to the creditors of how much you were proposing to repay. It would also be impossible to be able to advise that a trust deed seemed like the best option for you.
I had completed one with CCCS (I was self-employed at the time) but my circumstances changed just before signing my Trust Deed. I informed KPMG of this, and was told I could start payments when I got a job. I did a training course August/September 2011 and thought finding work after this would be easy but this turned out not to be the case. I did not receive an income/expenditure form from KPMG at all until last month
