If me and my wife have Joint Debts, why can't my TD company give us a Joint TD, in fact I will answer my own question, its so that they can charge 2_fees, yes £4700 each that's £9400 for the 2 trust deeds, for joint Debt, Maybe I am off the mark here and maybe the experts will know if a joint TD is possible

Poprey.

It's because there's no such thing!

If you think that there should be you should bring it up with your MSP.

There's more information about how couples can work together to set up arrangements that will seem (in many ways) like a joint trust deed at:

Thanks TDA, I wonder if there is a reason why there is not a joint TD, its not as if we wouldn't be paying back the same as we would with separate TD's it also means instead of the £4700 fee twice, it would be another £4700 to go to the creditors, am a wee bit baffled

The joint option is available in DAS. This allows you to combine all debts from both parties under one formal proposal and pay the debts in full over an agreed period.

Thanks Mark, I just thought it was a bit strange paying TD fee's twice with Joint Debts, its a lot of money to pay on fees when the sane work could have need done with only one account and one fee

I'm sure there was talk a few years back of doing joint trust deeds, but it never came to anything.

It could get complicated though when calculating & paying dividends though if everything was listed together.
