In a word... YES

Although if there is association between you from a financial point (say a mortgage) there is always going to be a link in your credit files (I believe). If you don't have any association financially then I am not sure how your failed credit score would affect his if at all.

Half way already!

Hi nells99.

I assume you're in a trust deed and he isn't?

If so it will not be affecting his credit rating as they're individual things.

However there will be a financial link between you, meaning that some creditors might decide not to lend to him even if his credit rating is good.

Do you have any other joint financial arrangements, like a mortgage for example?

Very little to be gained by separating your bank accounts in that case nells99.

You'll remain financially linked by the mortgage.
