I got the letter today saying my trustee had discharged themselves so that's me complete. Now I just need to write to all the people on my credit report that say I have accounts open with them. It's only taken 5 and a half months and much arguing over PPI but it's done. The trust deed has to be one of the best things I've ever done. Thanks to that, I can now save some money, I've been able to pay for a holiday and I don't have to worry whether I'll have enough money to make it through the month.

To anyone who's struggling, you'll get through it. Keep talking to your trustee. That's what their fees are for. It's also something that has to end - unlike the spiral of debt. I should have done this years ago. There's no way I could have been debt free in 36 months had I not done this.

Nothing left to discharge - everything's done and dusted!

Great stuff. I have asked tenon for an update on when the trustee is likely to discharge himself so hopefully wont be far behind you.

Happy days

Paul, I'm sure yours won't be far away. I was just behind you getting the form 5. It's a nice feeling knowing that now, I can start sorting my credit file and getting dates put to the correct time. I'm sure by the time I get all that sorted out, it'll be another 3 years down the line and they would have dropped off anyway.[:)]

Thanks Gillian. I am sure tenon wont allow it to drag on much longer and then I can enjoy starting to sort out my credit file. Congratz once again.

Do you have to wait until the trustee is discharged before beginning to sort out your credit file?

Hi Gillian. Congratulations on reaching the end. I know from previous threads that you were having issues with your TD Company with regards to PPI etc. I had similar problems with the same company. I am really pleased that you have finally gotten everything sorted out and been discharged. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi EdM, you can make sure all your default dates on your credit file are correct (they should state the date the TD was signed) before discharge. To get the accounts as settled on your credit report you will need your discharge letter. Hope this helps.
