Please help. My husband and I are on the verge of entering into a trust deed. We are going through Immediate Financial who use Invocas to arrange the trust deed here in Scotland. On reading some of the forum posts I see Invocas has been mentioned a few times and not had a very good right up? Please can you tell me am I better looking elsewhere???

Hi LMM,

It's difficult for the team involved in this site to make comment on firms that we are not connected to.

The experts from firms represented here focus on trying to help the visitors to this site (and forum) which sometimes includes explaining how their firm would handle any particular scenario.
They are obviously confident of the service that they provide or they would not appear in a public forum such as this.

A Scottish Trust Deed is a major commitment generally lasting for three years. Firms seem to differ in the way that they handle situations and their commitment to providing a high level of service. Whatever you choose to do, and because of these reasons, I would not sign a Trust Deed until you are confident that the firm you have chosen will handle the matter in a way that you consider to be fair and professional.

Hi LMM & welcome to the forum. Two months ago i was in the same position as youself didn't know what to do and who to use. I was put on a debt management for the first 6 months up until November then was supposed to go onto a Trust Deed but through this site i found out that the TD firm (Aidie)had financial problems of their own, so it was a lucky escape for me. I thought about using Invocas but didn't like feed back. I used one of the trust deed experts from this site. This was the best desision made,I have had my 2 meetings and everything is being taken care off,i am just waiting for TD to be accepted. If you have not signed to anyone yet i would suggest using Either Mark,Kevin or Julie from this site by clicking on their name and send them you contact details & they will get back to you. Remember your not alone this site has helped out many people debt. Best of luck with who ever you choose.

Welcome to the forum LMM. As TDA states we cannot really comment on any other firms mentioned on this forum.

Whatever you decide however make sure that you have it in writing what the Trust Deed entails before you sign the actual Trust Deed document. If for example you own a property how is the equity to be dealt with? If you receive overtime or bonuses how much will you need to pay towards your Trust Deed?

Good luck whatever you decide!

Julie

Hi all Julie phoned me back and gave me some very helpful info. For one with the other company i was dealing with they put my husband through aswell which we wanted to do but he had a stroke in November and is currently off work and receiving sick pay. The company based my monthly payment by taking my husbands wage so we thought this was ok. After speaking with Julie she explained that this would not be accepted and at this point in time my husband cannot apply for a PTD. We can try again for him in the coming months when he is back at work. However I can go ahead with it for myself so have kindly left it in the hands of Julie who is now dealing with all for me. So far I have had great communication with Julie and look forward to having her as my IP. I have every faith that it will go through or at least I hope it will fingers crossed. In the meantime Julie suggested I contact my husbands creditors and explain his situation and see if they will accept reduced payments. I am just waiting on them replying with hopefully understanding news. We also found out that when my husbands sick pay runs out in april he will not be entitled to any form of benefit so we will get zero money which is going to be really hard IF we can manage to cope. I have no idea how the system works and certainly I could not be one of the many millions who work it... Thanks again for steering me in the direction of one of the sites experts I have deffo made the correct decision.
