Now looks like a hypothetical question as it looks like I'll no longer be balloted for Industrial Action but I am curious to see how a Trustee would deal with someone on strike if the asked to reduce payments or a payment break as they are on strike.....?
Would they simply say it's your choice to go on strike so we can't review your payments, or would they be more sympathetic...
As I said am just curious, as some one who works in the public sector looks like they maybe further issues in the years ahead....
Thanks.
Hi Porcupine.
I don't know the answer but I suspect many Trustees might consider it unfair for creditors to lose out due to a decision to take industrial action that leads to a voluntary loss of income.
A supportive Trustee might allow an extension of a trust deed so that their client can participate in such action perhaps. It seems like one of those questions that each Trustee would have to apply their professional judgment to on a case by case basis.
Hi porcupine
I would go for the 2nd option. I think an extension would be more than acceptable, but as TDA says, it would be up to the individual Trustee.
