Hi I took money from pension and it took me over tax threshold, I now have a large tax bill, I am already struggling to pay existing card/loans and am considering a Trust Deed, will I be able to add tax bill to it or am I best to contact HMRC about this?, any advise would be grateful

thanks

Hi johnty b. Welcome to the forum.

The short answer is yes, a tax bill such as this would be included in a Trust Deed - in fact it would have to be included. However, that is not quite the end of the story. HMRC do often object to Trust Deeds, so a bit of care may need to be taken with your Trust Deed proposals to give them the best chance of getting accepted.

Myself or Paul, the other expert on the forum, would be happy to give some more detailed advice based on your particular circumstances if you would like, especially given the slight complexity here, so feel free to contact us directly. (NB there is an issue with the contact forms just now, so if you would like to speak with us then I think you would need to call the number provided instead).

I agree with Kevin , since the beginning of this year HMRC are now objecting to most if not all trust deeds for a number of reasons.

Their objection doesn't necessarily mean it cannot proceed but always best to have a full review of your circumstances and a full assessment on the various options that are available to deal with your debt.
