Looking for a bit of advice re the end of my trust deed. I signed the deed in September 2013. However the first payment wasn't taken until 1st December as there was a takeover in progress between RS Tenon & Apex. So I assumed that, having missed no payments, my last one would be on November 1st this year? It was still a 36 months process when I started, and my advisor had said I was starting at the right time, before the change.

I came home to a letter from Apex asking me to do the Income & Expenditure form again, as I did on the first and second anniversary. It's no problem to do it. Having made a hash of doing the first year anniversary one, I keep all my figures at my fingertips. But I just wondered wh , with only 3 payments to go ( by my calculations) they would want one again. It's got me paranoid that I have to do 4 years and I have missed some change in the law.

It will likely be generated by a timescale; i.e. 3 years since you signed. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thanks tinsoldier. I think I just overreacted. I will get in touch with my trustee tomorrow.

I can't see anything to worry about with this gaelforce.

Hopefully you'll be fully reassured tomorrow.

I agree, these things have to be sent out at least once a year so are usually sent out just prior to the anniversary of the Trust Deed being signed. It doesn't mean that you still have another year of payments left.

Thanks Kevin. I have emailed the trustee and looked out my original document. It states I signed the TD on 11/09/13 and it is expected to be completed by May 2017. I take it they add a few months on after the payments to get all the admin done?

That's often the case gaelforce.

The wording is perhaps more relevant to your creditors than to you.

I heard back from Apex today and everything is fine. I think the relatively tranquil corner I have been living in since entering the Trust Deed, was rattled. It really was as if all the old worries and fears I had felt before looking for help had come back. I would urge anyone like me, who is in a complete financial nightmare, to approach a reputable company. It was the best thing I ever done. I was told the 3 years would fly in and didn't believe it. I was only relieved not to be living month to month any more.

Anyway thanks again for the prompt and helpful replies.

Glad to hear that gaelforce.

A natural thing to worry about, but I thought it would work out just fine.

I remember getting spooked when copied into correspondence but you quickly realise it's all part of the process.

Best to keep a hold of everything anyway.
