My trust deed was granted protected status by the AIB on the 22nd of July and the creditors notified by my TD company the following week.

I am still receiving numerous phone calls each day plus some text messages from one particular company.

Is there anything I can do that would make them stop? I can't just switch the phone off, I need it for work.

Have you told this firm that you are in a TD? I would a)pass them on the details of the firm you are using and b)inform your trustee

You may be better writing to them and telling them that unless the cals and texts stop you will consider it harassment under the telecomms act.

Either that or phone them, tell them the message is being recorded, ask to speak to a manager and spell out in no uncertain terms that you are no longer responsible for dealing with the debt.

Hi aber87.

Have you asked your trust deed provider what steps they've taken to help bring this to an end?

There's only so much that they can do, but they should have done what they can.

Hi aber87

You should refer matters to your trustee to deal with.

We are fortunate that we have a dedicated office in Ireland who deal with all of our claims and normally a call from someone with a strong Northern Irish accent is enough to stop calls immediately!

This is something for your trustee to deal with.

Hi aber87,

The phone calls can be one of the biggest difficulties for someone to deal with when entering into a Trust Deed.

The best thing you can do which is what everyone has advised is speak with you relationship manager to advise which companies are still contacting you.

The more you advise your relationship manager the more then can organise for the company to be called, faxed, email and paperwork posted to them.

If you don't let your relationship manager know, the calls will continue.

I'll need to try getting the staff to put on strong Northern Irish accent when speaking with creditors (I'm trying to do this in my head as I type this)...

As Mark said, it's something for us to deal with.

That's a good suggestion maverick267. Where can you pick that up from and how much does it cost?
