Hello, I am looking for some assistance. After completing my annual review, my contributions were recalculated and increased now leaving me with only £106 a month after paying T/D and 50% of bills. I have been to the dentist today for a check up and I require over £300 of work. I am registered with an NHS dentist therefore this is the cheapest I will be able to get the work done. I can't afford this (as mentioned above) so is there some sort of benefit or box I tick to get this treatment FOC? Dental/optical are not included in my T/D calculation

Hi crc1412

I think your only option would be to speak with your trustee and provide him with a copy of the estimate and see if they can allow a reduction to, at least, make payment easier.

Check if there is a Dental Access Centre near you. The NHS Dental helpline for your local NHS Trust will tell you. These centres often act as training centre for final year dental students - the appointments are longer but the treatment is free. My colleague has had, at a conservative estimate, around £3000 worth of work done now including a gold crown and she actually enjoys going to the dentist now.
