Hi annie

No, there is no statutory minimum and it depend on circumstances. ie level of debt, contribution, assets etc. If your debt was ยฃ9k and you could afford ยฃ250 per month, then the Trust Deed is not the best option as an example.

Hi annie

Yes, Council Tax is an ordinary debt like all others and there should be no set up costs or fees for meetings with an IP firm in any circumstances.

Hi annie.

There are very few debt or trust deed advisors who charge simply for providing advice.

It's the solutions themselves that sometimes have fees attached to them, but taking advice doesn't commit you to going ahead with any such solution, so there is little to lose by taking some advice.

Hi cal.

Debt advisers would still say that council tax debts are priority debts which should be repaid in preference to other unsecured creditors.

That position changes at the point a trust deed is signed though.

Ahhhh ... But it's always good to know that you can ask and not assume. That's what this site is brilliant for ... And as always TDA you are so quick to reply! Do you ever have time off??

Not much!

But I do have a little help from my advice team colleagues sometimes.
