Hi,
My discharge was in June, since then I've had 2 monthly credit reports (Noddle), they show me as discharged but all my debts are still outstanding.
Anyone know how long it takes for the creditors to update?
Thanks
Saabrina
Hi Saabrina
My understanding is that the AIB updates quickly. The creditors are much slower. The Trust Deed will remain on your file for 6years from start so that over-rides any other default showing against the creditors. Which also means that there is no rush to have the individual files updated.
They shoukd start to update in time although you can write to each giving them a copy of your Form 5 discharge and asking them to ensure dates are accurate or the defaults may appear on your file longer than the Trust Deed.
It took me October to June to get mine updated. Dates varied significantly but They all now show a date within a month of the Trust Deed starting so that's close enough for me.
I would suggest you wait a while to see when they update and perhaps try in the final year to get anything cleared up? Remember to check the default dates they have. Mine varied by 6 months.
Hi Firewalker and TDA
The AIB updated very quickly, it was me who informed my trustee that I'd been discharged. He then sent my form 5. I know that everything remains for 6 years, and that's fine. Just concerned that for that time it will still look like I owe them money. I'll wait a few months and then get in touch, it's not going to make any difference in the immediate future. With regards to the default dates, I'm the same as you, some of mine are out by 5-6 months. I'll get in touch in a month or 2 if there have been no updates. Thanks for your responses

Hi saabrina.
The AIB will only have registered your discharge because your trustee told them that this had happened. Sounds like there might be a bit of confusion at their end on that.
Default notice dates almost certainly aren't going to change unless you make a case to the issuer why they should.
Hi TDA
There was definately confusion over my discharge. I saw it on AIB and waited patiently to hear from my trustee. After about 2 weeks I called to ask when I would receive official notification, (IE form 5) my trustee or should I say account manager advised me that he was waiting on word back from AIB to confirm my discharge and after he'd received that he would get my form 5 issued. I advised that it was already on AIB website and had been for a fortnight, he said he'd check it and the paperwork would follow if what I said was correct. A few days later I received the form 5, but the account manager advised me they were waiting on confirmation, he checked himself online and saw that was the case

OK. The discharge isn't official until it's on the Register of Insolvencies so I think I can see where your trustee's office might have been coming from. They'd confirmed your discharge to the AIB but hadn't apparently been watching the register closely to immediately provide you with a copy of Form 5 once it was there.
All sorted now though thankfully.
