The trust deed and any defaults will stay on file for 6 years from the start of your td. I got a vanquis credit card to help my credit rating.

Other borrowing will be limited until your file is squeaky clean.

Hi royalalfa10.

The first thing will be to check your credit file for accuracy and ask creditors to update it if anything is wrong.

The second might be, if you feel it appropriate, to make some responsible and careful use of credit. Avoid payday loans in this respect as they may be counterproductive.

We can't tell you when you'll have access to mainstream credit again as there are too many factors involved, of which your previous trust deed will just be one.
