I really don't see the issue of shaming firms if you have a problem that you aren't happy about!

A new dawn.
Hi Paul,
I don't think we've ever said that people cannot name firms about whom they have good things to say, or criticisms to air.
We don't want a "name and shame" culture though.
There are plenty of issues that come up on the forum where the individual writing the post has actually misunderstood or forgotten something.
There are also plenty of issues that arise here where a call or two to the trust deed firm will resolve any concerns.
"Naming and shaming" firms in such circumstances could create a grossly unfair impression of them.
People are free to write as they wish but they are responsible for what they write, so we encourage people to be thoughtful and measured. Almost everybody chooses to do this anyway.
Where somebody writes a post that includes some criticism of a firm they do not name we don't really want others to encourage naming the firm. Our main interest is trying to fix the issue, not to bring the name of the firm to the fore. If the person that started the thread wants to name the firm they can, subject to the comments about being as measured and thoughtful as possible.
