Hi there,

I owe RBS 25,000 in a mortgage shortfall sale on my property and 14,000 in a personal loan. I am living with my partner in rented accommodation and Iโ€™m in full time employment. Would I be eligible for a DAS or a trust deed?

Welcome to the trust deed forum Kitkat00.

I'm sorry to hear that you're in this position, but I hope it's of some relief to you that you can deal with a mortgage shortfall in the exact same ways you can with other types of debts.

So there's certainly the potential to enter a DAS or trust deed provided you meet the other eligibility criteria and, most importantly, that they're a good fit for your current situation and needs.

The starting point is to get debt advice from an authorised debt adviser. We could help you with this if you'd like us to, as could many other advice agencies.

Hi Kitkat00.

Welcome to the forum. That sounds like quite a stressful position to be in, but please be reassured that there are certainly some good options for dealing with debts of this size. This may be a Trust Deed or a DAS, though it would only be possible to give best advice on your options with more information about your circumstances. Feel free to click through on the "contact me" button and we would be happy to help.
