Hi,
I have credit card debts ( x 4) of ?ú22k, a loan of ?ú18k and an overdraft of about ?ú770.
I called a company on the tv who said the could organise a trust deed for me and tried to organise a meeting. Do they do Trust Deeds ad I'm worried I'll have someone in my house for hours until I sign something.
I'm not sure it's a problem, but it's taken me a while to try to sort things and just want to do things right.
Hi Fozziesghost
Welcome to the forum. The subject of middlemen companies and what purpose they serve comes up time and time again on the forum.
You should be aware that Insolvency Firms are very heavily regulated/monitored, where as these companies are not. There is little comeback if they give bad or misleading advice and my advice is always speak to a qualified advisor directly and discuss all the options. The cost of radio, tv or newspaper advertising can be huge, so there's a need to recover that money somehow and when profit is the key element, then impartial advice tends to be 2nd choice.
Remember, there's nothing to stop you going direct to the IP firm.

Hi fozziesghost and welcome to the forum. As Mark says, you would be better dealing direct with an IP firm direct, as you will find out that some ones advertised are brokers and might use your first couple of payments as their commission then start 36 payments after that. This is what nearly happend to me. When i found this site i clicked on Marks name, gave him my details and he visited my home (he will give you good advice and there is no committment at this stage) and i am now 14 months in2 my TD. Dont sign with anyone until you are certain at what you want to do. All the experts on this site are highly recommended. wish you all the best
Thanks for the response. I suppose it's like buying double glazing where you never really know what you'll get.
I'll certainly follow the advice.
Thanks again.
