hi i have been offered a government funded scheme to fit solar panels to my house , although it is funded by them i have to pay it back but i would be able to do so as the money i save on paying electricity company pays for the panels but think my trust deed will be a problem due to credit check . it would also generate more money to pay into trust deed any help with this would be great

Hi piper.

I'm afraid I don't know too much about this scheme.

Hopefully someone else can step in with some thoughts for you soon.

have looked through paperwork again and decided not to apply for the scheme would be better to wait till td finished then get solar panels fitted. government scheme for 3kw system costs approx ยฃ21000 including interest , can get 4kw system fitted for around ยฃ12000 better to save after td rather than get into more debt saving myself more money

Doesn't it feel good when you can see the cost of saving money?

That's kinda what I meant-how much the 'savings' were to cost you!!

have you calculated how long it will take you to get a return? is it worth it for even 12K?

a lot of these government funded schemes are nothing of the sort, and simply a sales gimmick to make you feel very comfortable parting with your cash!!!
