Its been over 2 and a half years since I looked at my Experian Report. I have 11 months to go on my Trust Deed and I expected it would be where I left it floating around 0 out of a 1000 !
However, I was slightly shocked to see it was 974 / 1000 and rated excellent and I'm thinking really? Have you read this thing?
It shows the Trust Deed Event around October 2011 and a series of credit cards that defaulted when I was advised to stop paying at the start of Trust Deed.
Experian's explanation is that the debts have become historical and that my record of payments of existing pre-Trust Deed agreements has been very consistent since then.
What a very unexpected surprise! I'm thinking of taking my lepers clothes and the bell off and starting to join society again! LoL ...
(As an aside I was always a good payer but two things happened simultaneously around summer of 2011. The card juggling I had been doing for years started to get a little harder as I had a spike in expenses and while I was still managing to pay everyone and always on time what also happened was the banks and credit card companies where I had all this credit (about 100,000 available) drastically reduced my overdraft and card limits all at once. I mean almost down to nothing at all every where. I had a plan to eventually pay everything off but their actions took me right out and caused me to hit the wall which was quite a shock after using the same system over about 15 years!) ...)
Its easy to blame others but the banks allowed me to have these ridiculous credit card limits and then the banks pulled the plug on me without me ever having defaulted or missed a payment up to that point and then I had to be rescued by the Trust Deed ...I remember telling one credit card company that I was in a Trust Deed now and they said 'why you've never missed a payment before how could that have happened?' ... anyway, enough of my story...I'll be glad when its all over ! ๐
Good post.
Credit scores never appear to be 100% reliable and I suppose what information comes out depends on what goes in.
Good to see yours isn't half as bad as expected and even better that the Bells coming off. Honestly that constant ringing! Ha!
