Hi
My employer has fluffed up and paid my expenses, £250 into my old Bank of Scotland account. I was released from my TD a year ago but my trustee has not yet been released. Can the bank retain my money? I told my employer about my new account four years ago but they have said expenses is a different department from wages, not their fault. Additionally they don't know about the TD and I would prefer they did not find out. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Snowball
No, the bank have no rights to the money. Normally a fax from the Trustee advising that they have no interest in the funds should allow these to be returned to you.

Hi Snowball,
Best to get onto your Trustee and ask them to send a letter and fax to the Bank of Scotland requesting they release the funds to you.
You may also want to give the Bank of Scotland a call to speak with them about it and obtain a fax number for the department at the bank which will deal with this.
It should be resolved fairly easy and without your employer having to find out.

Many thanks folks.
I'll do as you say.
Hi Snowball
Most firms have standard faxes to fit most occasions, so best leave it to the Trustee.
Shouldn't be any problem though.
