Hi I have been following your forum and it has proved very helpful. Myself and my husband have both received our form 5's and they are noted on the ROI.
I would like to know if you can help with regards to company pension. I am past retirement age and kept working to help pay my trust fund. My father who is in his nineties and lives with us is now totally incapable of looking after himselfand cannot walk. atooing and frowing to hospital and not beng able to sleep is taaking its toll on my health. I am his carer but work full time. If I retire now and receive my work pension will the creditors now ask for part of my pension. Its not a large pension and I am still paying a mortgage which has another 8 yrs to run.
Hi Mary T. Congratulations on receiving your form 5 which is your confirmation that you are now discharged from your Trust Deed.
As such. There is no need to worry - your obligations to the Trust Deed are over and your pension would not be affected at all.
Kevin Thank you for your help.
I can now sumbit my 4 monhs notice and maybe have couple of hrs sleep.
I had asked this question of the trust company I am with but it was just advisor at end of phone, They put me on hold and gave me the answer not to. They may have omitted to advise me not until registered on ROI as I have noticed this mentioned a few times. Your forum has been a saviour o me as at my age could not believe I had got into debt.
Everyone there is light at end of the long tunnel.
Thank you to everyone this pensioner now very happy and relieved.
Hi Mary T,
Well done on successfully completing your Trust Deed’s and receiving the From 5’s.
As Kevin has advised now you are legally discharged if you wish to draw down on your pension the creditors / Trustee can’t access this.
It sounds like it’s all completed at the right time and you can now take retirement and not worry about the debts.
All the best for the future and enjoy being debt free.
