I have a stupid big smile on my face this morning!! My form 5 arrived in the post and I'm registered as discharged on the AiB website.. Feelings of utter happiness, relief and a huge weight off my shoulders.. Thank you to all who have offered me advice in the past few weeks. I will be popping in and out in a regular basis as I am fully aware that this is just the beginning of a new chapter and I may have many questions still to ask (and hopefully I can offer some advice to people new to a TD!)
Going out for a celebratory lunch (that doesn't need to be accounted for!)
That's great mazc75 - it seems like the discharge process has worked pretty smoothly in the end?
Congratulations to you.
We're very happy to help with any further questions you have, and your offer to share your experience here with others is very much appreciated.
Thanks TDA.. It did go fairly smoothly at the end up! Well I did have to send a few emails back and forth to jolly them along a bit (felt like I had to do that or risk being 'forgotten' about again!) It's all good though! Unfortunately my car decided to give me more grief today when my wipers stopped working mid drive.. Hoping it's just a link that needs repaired and I can keep it going til I'm in a better position to get a newer one.
Hi mazc75,
Congratulations on completing your Trust Deed and receiving your Form 5!
Hope the celebratory lunch was nice.
Enjoy the extra money and the feeling of being debt free.

Thanks David and Kevin! and it's never too early to start the Christmas chat Kevin! Fortunately this year we will have a slightly more indulgent one than we have had for a long time!
On the Christmas chat and I know it's not debt related but I was forced up the loft last night by my better half to bring down all of the Christmas decorations.
I'm anticipating going home from work tonight to a house full of tinsel, bobbles and decorations everywhere. The kids and I are not allowed to decorate the tree so it's put up when I'm at work and they are at school and nursery but we take enjoyment out of moving the bobbles when my partner isn't in the room! Drives her crazy but we love doing it.
Good to hear that you will indulge a little more this Christmas mazc75 after a couple of years on a Trust Deed and working to a budget. I hope it's a good one!

Well done. I remember the feeling more than 4 years ago when you realise that's it.
