Hi, received email today to say congratulations on form 5. I'm asking if anyone has received this and applied for pension? I'm over 55 and woukd like to take some money out my pension as I need a car. Will this affect anything?

That's great news, Atlast - congratulations! It must feel good to get that through.

Your Form 5 should mean that you are discharged from any further obligations to your Trust Deed and are free to drawn down those funds if you wish. You might want to check this with your Trustee first though, just to give you peace of mind.

Hi thanks for reply Kevin, phoned trustdeed and the advisor said they wouldn't have had an interest in thr quarter pension even if I had drawn out before end of my 4 years and can go ahead. Read somewhere on here something similar happened to someone else and they had to use that money and pay into trust deed so I'm still confused and hesitant. I asked if I am definitely OK after my form 5 discharge or will I not need to wait on the trustee discharge and she said no you've had your discharge and as said wouldn't have mattered if was under the 4 years. Surely that's incorrect as would have been viewed as me receiving a lump sum? Sorry but just bit scared..

Hmmmm. Not sure why they think it wouldn't matter if it was prior to the 4-year point, but would definitely agree that once you are discharged then you have nothing to worry about.
