My wife and myself have protected trust deeds, which were signed in May of this year and became protected shortly thereafter.
We used to reside in the Irish Republic and moved back to the UK in January of 2004,where we subsequently bought a house started a family and carried on with our lives.
Due to circumstances outwith our control(Wages being reduced drastically) we took advice and entered a trust deed which is now protected.
We have been inundated with calls from creditors which eventually have settled down.
But tonight I answered my phone and spoke to someone who claimed to be from a company called global financial solutions, representing the Allied Irish bank, this was for a credit card which we had forgotten about and has not been used since we moved back to the Uk.
He did not disclose the level of debt, just said that they would be in touch and that we would need legal advice.
Can this affect our trust deed in any way , can they take action against us ?
This was the last thing we were needing as we had thought that we had finally turned the corner.
Any advice would be much appreciated, worried sick all over again !
Hi fedupfighting
relax, this will be included. This is the reason why TD's are advertised in the Gazette, to give creditors the chance to check and lodge a claim. So, no they can't take legal action to recover the debt.
