I am in process of sequestration and just realised I have forgotten a creditor who I will owe £280 roughly it was a catalogue account I took out beginning of last year and also a home contents insurance policy for £36 which I didn’t realise I could not transfer overto my partners account. What do I do about these . The catalogue account was for a buy now pay later item .
Hi 1985debt.
This doesn’t seem like anything to worry about. Just let whoever is dealing with your bankruptcy know the details of these debts.
Did you both put another home contents policy in place? It’s worth checking the small print on this and other types of insurance. Some policies (by no means all) contain insolvency or bankruptcy restrictions.
Hi 1985debt,
Happens all the time so don’t worry about it. Like Paul has advised as the debtor was incurred prior to the Sequestration then this can go into it as well.
What’s making you want to transfer the home contents policy to your partner? Have you had a look at the T&C of the home policy? You could just leave this running in your name and then when it’s due for renewal set up a new policy in your partners name.

What happened was I didn’t realise the direct debit was coming off the bank account that is part of my insolvency and the insurance company wouldn’t let me change the direct debit to my partners account so when my payment failed they cancelled policy but said I owed the remainder of it . I have set up a new contents policy with another company on my partners account .
Just pass the details of the debt on to your trustee, 1985debt. As with your catalogue, as long as this was a policy you took out prior to the award of your sequestration then it is automatically covered by it.
