I'm expecting all my TD paperwork this week and an entry in the Edinburgh Gazette on Friday.
In this scenario, when should I expect to have to make the first TD payment? I know I'd need to set up a standing order for it so would the first payment be this month or next? Or does it vary from IP to IP?

In my case I made my first payment on the day I signed my Trust Deed, then my standing order kicked in roughly 6 weeks later. Which was a god send as that allowed me to have one months wage where I had no payments or major bills to pay except Rent and Council Tax, I use this as my emergency fund....
Thanks Porcupine.
I didn't need to make a payment on the date it was signed. So now with Christmas looming large, I'm hoping they let me start in January!

Hi DFW.
I think that the date will be set by agreement with your trust deed company. Some companies ask for the first payment on the signing date but I don't think this practice is set in stone. Co-ordination with your payday is clearly a factor to consider.
Hi Debtfreewannabe
I am surprised that you didn't sign a standing order mandate at the same time you signed the Trust Deed or at the very least given the date this would start.

Thanks TDA and Mark.
No standing order mandate was signed at the time (as far as I can remember) but, that said, I was still in the middle of setting up new bank accounts etc.
I'm sure the paperwork that's due to arrive this week will have the information in it.

Oh, and I did ask about the date of the first payment and a rough estimate of 3-4 weeks was given. However, that was before the snow problems pushed everything back.
